Golden hour is the roughly one hour after sunrise and before sunset, when the sun sits low. The light then is warm, golden and soft — one of every photographer's favourites.
Why is it so flattering?
The soft, side-on light gently shapes facial features, smooths shadows and gives skin a warm glow. The background often melts into golden points of light — what we call bokeh.
